There was no specific information, but what he saw still felt like a punch to the gut. Of all 10 Ascendants, he was the weakest. And the weakest by a large margin to boot. even the person in ninth place was ahead of him by nearly 10 levels. Perhaps even worse, two of these people were trapped in the tower with him. Two people who were significantly stronger than him and wouldn’t hesitate to attack him on sight because he couldn’t be killed here.

Maybe hiding in the forest and leveling up was a good idea. While he wouldn’t stay dead, Alexander had no doubt in his mind that dying still hurt. At least hiding in the forest would buy him some time to grow stronger before confronting them. Other than that, though, one last bit of information caught his eye.

Ever Ascendant other than him was apparently specialized. He didn’t even know what that meant, let alone how to get it! Maybe it was something he would unlock at level 20 since all of them were already above it. That seemed to be the most plausible explanation to Alexander, but he tried to press his finger against the word just to see if more information was available. To his delight, there was.

All Alexander had to do was think the word ‘yes’ for another box to appear.

Specialization –

As you have likely noticed by now, despite your rapid growth in power, your actual body has not changed much. This is where Specialization comes into play. For a normal class, their body will change to accommodate their new powers. A physical class will grow taller and develop larger muscles, an agile class will grow slimmer and faster, etc. Ascendants, however, operate differently. Your ability to use the Light lets you choose literally any path to power that you desire. Once you have chosen a path, your body will begin to drastically change to follow it. You do not need to stress about choosing the correct path, as one will naturally form based on your actions and abilities. As you grow, so will your Specialization.

So, the reason he didn’t have a specialization yet was that he hadn’t created any original abilities. The only two Light-based powers that Alexander had learned were Light Infusion and Light Field, both of which were incredibly basic and simple. Thankfully there were plenty of monsters in this tower for him to train and learn against. All of that could wait until tomorrow, though. Alexander’s hand and foot were fully healed, and he drifted off into a deep sleep.
